Michael A. Coffman, O.D.

Doctor Michael Coffman grew up in Eugene, Oregon. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Oregon State University in 1991. He graduated with honors from Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove in 1995 to receive his Doctorate of Optometry. Dr. Coffman started his career in Corvallis and Eugene, working in both a private practice and in a corporate optical setting. Later, he moved to Silverton where he worked in a practice specializing in vision therapy.   He purchased Express Optical in 1998, and immediately began redesigning it into a state-of-the-art optometric practice. He is interested in visual performance, and likes to educate patients regarding their individual visual needs. Doctor Coffman enjoys basketball, biking, fencing, acting, and singing. He has done several television commercials in Central Oregon. He performs regularly at Cascades Theatrical Company, and 2nd Street Theater.

Derri J. Sandberg, O.D.

Dr. Derri Sandberg grew up in Fargo, North Dakota. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. She earned her Doctorate of Optometry degree from Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon in May, 2007 and was awarded for her excellence in contact lens patient care. Dr. Sandberg received clinical training at the Portland Veteran’s Administrative Hospital, Allina Health Center in MN, Snoqualmie Valley Eyecare in WA, and other specialty optometry clinics in Portland.  She is interested in childhood visual development as well as treatment and co-management of ocular disease.  Express Optical welcomed Dr. Sandberg to Central Oregon in July, 2007. She continues to be active in optometric societies at both the local & national level in addition to volunteering for local vision screenings.  In her free time, Dr. Sandberg and her husband, Mike, enjoy local hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, and table tennis.
